Children's Story-Sagar Gautam, the Football Player

Sagar does not remember when he arrived at the CFO-Children`s Home in Kathmandu but was told that his uncle brought him there in the year 2003 ago. He was one of the first CFO-children and was 5 years old when he was admitted. His first and unforgettable words were: `May I study in school, please ?` Both parents are gone. Sagar`s mother lost her life in the internal conflict between government and Maoists and his father escaped the scene with little Sagar to another district. There he asked for help and tried to take up work to care for his son and himself but the stress was too much and he died a sudden death. Children in homes like CFO are very often the victims of a cruel tragedy and it is vital to have a haven, like CFO, for these helpless young people where they can feel wanted and loved in addition to having shelter, food and education.
